Fifty Years Later

1957
In 1957 Tang, the energy drink was introduced. Velcro was patented to fasten things securely. The plastic pink flamingo lawn decorations were everywhere. Sputnik was launched. Eveready produced AA batteries to energize personal transistor radios. Frozen pizza hit supermarket freezers. Better Homes and Gardens printed the first microwave cooking article. One thousand computers were sold, and Thomas Galloway married Laverne Holley.
Fifty years later, Tang is still energizing the astronauts, who were inspired by Sputnik.? Velcro is still securely sticking things that need to be stuck, perhaps even some broken legs on those pink flamingos. AA batteries are still in use in many personal items. Microwaves are used to cook frozen pizzas that we sometime eat while sitting in front of our computers, and Thomas and Laverne are still married.
Congratulations. We are so proud you were introduced, joined together, and have remained securely fastened for fifty years.
